Dudhwa National Park – Erakina

Dudhwa National park, A park located in Northern India at Uttar Pradesh at an Indo-Nepal Buffer zone. The Dudhwa was a well-developed alluvial soil and it was planned to be converted as agricultural land. But by the seamless effort of Billy Arjan Singh, He took this news to the government to convert it into a wildlife sanctuary and the government accepted and let 7 Rhino rehabilitate at Dudhwa from Nepal and Assam. 

The Dudhwa was established as a Wildlife sanctuary in 1958 and by the efforts of Billy Arjan Singh, the area become a National park. In 1987 the park become a Tiger reserve and was brought under “Project Tiger”. The Infrastructure covers about the land of 490.3 km and with a buffer zone of 190 km. It was combined with Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. The park is situated in the Terai Region. 

Weather:

The weather in this region is extremely dependent on seasonal changes. For example, if it is the Rainy season the rainfall will be more than we expect. The annual rainfall in the area recorded is 1600mm. The temperature rises in the summer up to 40 celsius. The loo season starts in the middle of April and ends in May. With accompanied by the Monsoon season from June to September. The Foggy and chilly climate while passing the pathway gives a holiday feel for the people.

The Park is located in the Gangetic plains combined with the Alluvial plain. The park is a Marshy Grassland with firm soil conditions. With the river Mohana and Suheli, they have the finest Teak and Sal trees. The Dudhwa’s Moist surroundings make it the dense Wildlife reserve in India. The dense Sal forest can be classified into the forest like Swamp forest, Evergreen forest, Deciduous forest, and dry deciduous forest. The well-grown grass from the heavy rainfall gives good food for grass-eating animals.

Wild Families:

The Dudhwa Park is home to Tigers in India with a population of 107 tigers. The different species of animals like Swamp Deer, Barking Deer, Sambar Deer, Spotted Dear, Sloth Bear, Jungle cat, Fishing cat, etc are in this Wildlife Reserve. The animals that are considered extinct are found in Dudhwa Park. Species like Hispid hare, Indian Rhinocerous are said to be extinct has founded in Dudhwa park. The Dudhwa park gives habitat to the Barasingha, half of its population in the world is present in Dudhwa park. With the perfect Grassland, they enjoy their stay happily and peacefully. The good rainfall and the water supply like Mohana river and the comfortable climate makes the birds Migrate here. The species of bird in Dudhwa is around 400. The species like Swamp francolin, Great slaty woodpecker, Bengal florican, Painted stork, Sarus crane, Owl, Asian barbet, and Minivets. 

The Avid Bird watchers from many countries like to visit Dudhwa park for the seasonal mating of Birds which happens every year. The Dudhwa park gives a resident and migration for 400 species of birds. The Asian Flycatchers and Emerald Dove put on a brilliant show of their presence and characteristics. The count record says that 400 Indian and 1300 Avian species of birds come to Dudhwa every year. 

The tourist can make their plan to visit Dudhwa park on the time between 15th November to 15th June. The clear lane path makes the tourist explore the wildlife themself and not by any guides. Most tourists rent cars and explore Dudhwa. The Frog temple built by royal kings at Lakhimpur-Kheri near the park gets the people’s eyes. The 200-year-old temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva the base of the temple looks like a frog.

The silent Ambience and the fresh air give the people a refreshment and a comfort to stay at the park. The park has the facility of accommodation with the necessity a guest requires. The hunting of Tigers was saved by Dudhwa park. The Good deeds of a human being pay off here.
