Introduction

Grapefruit is considered a citrus that has a bitter-sweet and sour taste. Grape fruit is the combination of both pomelo fruit and orange.

History

Grapefruit first originated in America. It was first planted in the 1820s to 1840s in Florida. There are about 20 varieties of grapefruit across the nation. It is generally grown in the late summer.

  • Grapefruit is preferred to be grown in fertile soil so that one can get the best quality fruit.
  • The grapefruit also has another name which is called forbidden fruit.
  • Jamaicans named it grapefruit as this fruit grows in clusters that look like grapes.
  • Florida is the country which produces the maximum grapefruit in the world which is around 2 million tons a year.
  • Grapefruit is recommended to be eaten with a spoon as edges are cut.

  • Add grape juice, sugar and oil in a bowl. Mix this mixture well. Apply it well on the face and scrub it well. It gives the best solution in 1-2 weeks.
  • Mix honey and grapefruit juice in a bowl. Apply this mixture to one’s face and leave it for about 10 minutes.
  • Mix oats, grapefruit and 1 cup of milk in a bowl. Apply this mixture for about 15 minutes and wash it off.
  • Mix grapefruit juice, olive oil and coffee powder  in a bowl and mix it well. Apply this mixture to your face and scrub it well. It will give you the best result.
  • Some brands have also developed this ingredient in their face wash and other cosmetics.

  • One needs to pour 4 cups of water in a big bowl.
  • Add Some pineapple juice and grapefruit juice for a better taste.
  • Next step is to add some sugar and lemon juice to it.
  • One needs to stir it well so that all the juice gets mixed up.
  • And of course the juice is ready to serve.

Disadvantages

  • Sometimes it can lead to dehydration. It cannot happen every time. It is only applicable in some fruits.
  • Avoid the consumption of grapefruit during pregnancy and breastfeeding as it may affect the child.
  • It is sometimes said that it can lead to bleeding and sudden death.
