Stress has become an integral part of the present world, mainly the urban world is dealing with it daily. In a period, it becomes a chronic ailment that starts effective mental and physical health as well. Although there are many medical solutions and information available people still neglect the situation which eventually results in multiple health issues, difficult to cure. It is crucial to identify the symptoms and effects on the body and cure them on time. The need for Stress Management helps during this process.

Stress management involves various techniques and therapies addressing psychological situations as per stress for improvement. The mental and physical symptoms due to stress can be seen as a sleep disorder, chest pain, headaches, and a decline in physical health. One of the major problems which arise due to stress is depression. Depression is becoming very common nowadays which is damaging the mental health of individuals drastically. 

Every individual has a different situation and a specific demand to meet daily to maintain a healthy life. Sometimes the difficult demands or situations which go beyond an individual’s capability create stress and anxiety. Whenever there is some serious situation or condition in an individual’s personal or professional life, it increases anxiety or stress. If this condition prevails for a longer period, there is a high chance of mental disorder or depression. There are different levels of stress between different people for their different cases and situations. Some stresses are not that difficult for some people, but it becomes highly stressful for other. It also sometimes depends on the situation or the kind of risk or the unpredictable failure involved in it. 

Whatever the level, stress impacts our lives in multiple ways. Mental disorders slowly impact our physical health. Stress also impacts immunity along with physical weakness.

Some of the symptoms visible of stress can be as below:

  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Social Isolation
  • Excessive Sleeping
  • Heartburn
  • Stomach Pain
  • Sleeping disorder
  • Weight gain or Loss
  • Panic attacks

There are methods or tests available to measure stress nowadays. Like polygraphs, several physiological tests are available to get an idea of the stress levels and address it accordingly. Since a certain level of stress impacts immunity, it is a health hazard for individuals. Stress management is thus necessary to effectively treat the issues and curb stress. There are multiple models to manage or treat stress, but research is needed for better or more effective implementation and results.

Stress Management needs to consider the following factors:

  1.     Identify the causes of stress

In our regular routine, we may notice some issues which may point toward the effects of stress. We need to identify those and take the necessary steps.

  1.     Understanding

Understanding the problem due to stress is crucial. Different people react or stress out in different ways to problems. It makes it easy to understand it better before going for solutions. 

  1.     Notice the signals or symptoms 

There is always a symptom of an issue following stress. It can occur repeatedly which may help you identify the stress. It is better to notice it and address it without any delays. Taking care at the right time or initial stages helps avoid chronic problems.

  1.     Implementing stress management strategies

The unhealthy patterns visible due to stress can be managed by applying strategies of stress management. It is always advised to take medical help or expert advice and manage the issue. Meditation also helps to manage stress and support your healthy mind.

  • Emotion-oriented approaches

Thoughts or emotional situations impact us whenever we are under stress. It becomes essential to ensure the positivity of the thought process and protect mental wellbeing. The emotional-oriented approach helps to choose a positive thought over a negative one and manage stress levels effectively. Positive thoughts, approach, or affirmations reduces anxiety levels and stress.

  • Action Orientated Approach

Action Orientated Approach allows one to take initiative or act for a change in a stressful situation. A clear approach to the problem and working on solutions help to manage the stress effectively. 

  •  Acceptance-oriented approaches

Some stressful situations arise when looking out of control or unacceptable. These situations need acceptance which is the best approach to managing and reducing stress. Other effective solutions could be a healthy diet, meditation, or Yoga. Rest or sound sleep are also the best options which are always helpful in reducing stress and relaxing your mind.

Conclusion

It is always advised to go for medical help and take care of your stress levels. There are effective stress management systems to assist nowadays. Although there are solutions, people do not notice the issues or continuous negligence gives fatal diseases like chronic depression. It should be prioritized and taken care of as your other physical issues and addressed on time to avoid any further serious consequences.
