Like Delhi’s smog situation every year around the same time Karnataka also faces another kind of situation.
the rainstorm situation and this has been a common occurrence in the past 6 years.
Orange alert is in effect, due to heavy downpours resulting in schools to be shut down in urban and rural districts of Bengaluru to ensure well-being of children. In addition to extremely heavy rains and knee-high water logging there has also been frequent reports of viral fever and dengue is suspected.
But even the houses are not the safest as there have been many incidents where buildings have collapsed rising concerns among the citizens who live in houses leave alone people living in the slums.
Reaching offices and workspaces have been extremely difficult and the season has especially been harsh for vendors, small shopkeepers and business owners. A huge drop in window shoppers and casual buyers again affected the retail sector. Rates of tomato prices have gone way up and due rough sea conditions fishermen have been advised not to venture in the sea hence also affecting the fish markets.
Earlier this year we had a very destructive cyclone and we are yet again headed to that path only hoping we dodge it this time. This aggressive shoutout from mother nature is due to low pressure in the Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal and cyclonic circulation has been a factor.
Even though this is not fatal but it does great hinderance in the lives of people and growth of the nation. It largely affects farmers, fishermen, small business holders, 9 to 5 folk, basically everybody and makes mothers anxious for their children and husbands.
While we appreciate long monsoons, excess of anything has always been disastrous.
